"'Gamers' is a single-camera, filmed comedy TV series that throws out the typical studio production conventions and is presented in a style that Gamers can relate to and appreciate. Written and independently produced by actual Gamers, this speculative television series promises to be everything that ancient movies and TV shows like The Wizard and Captain N weren't: smart, in touch, and most importantly-- entertaining to all types of Gamers." -- Quoted from the original Put Gamers On TV! site.
When Put Gamers On TV! .com was originally launched in March of 2007, it amassed hundreds of thousands of hits within 48 hours of going online... and my inbox was flooded with hundreds of emails from fans of the site. Three weeks later the success of the original site helped to launch my writing/directing career, as I was flown down to LA and signed by the talent agency ICM. I've since been meeting with networks and studios trying to get the show developed... but the writer's strike has thrown the brakes on everything for the time being.
I never actually got the chance to put the full spec pilot for Gamers online. I was advised to yank even the trailers off the internet. Now that things are officially on hold down in LA, there is nothing keeping my back from releasing the original spec pilot for everyone to see.
The funny thing is that the show that we will hopefully be developing down in LA is based upon the a premise similar to that of the original Gamers spec pilot, but will be a completely separate entity. This actually enables me to continue to develop/market the online version of Gamers, should there be demand for it!
I would love to hear from anyone regarding your thoughts on the show... so feel free to send me an email or join in the discussions on the message boards! I'll be posting my responses to the most common questions that I receive in the FAQ.
Thanks for stopping by!
