First off: I apologize for being vague with some of these answers! As you might guess, I have to keep a fair amount of this stuff to myself at this point. That said, I'm happy to field any question that you might have, and I'll answer to the best of my ability!
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Gamers?
You'll find the answers to this question and many more like it by checking out the archive of the original site!
Why did you take the trailers offline for so long?
Long story... the easiest explanation that I can offer is that the people helping me produce the show didn't want networks and studios to see the trailer months before we walked in to pitch it.
What's the status of Gamers down in LA?
Well... we essentially have a development deal for the show, but the strike is preventing anything from moving forward.
Are you on strike?
Nah. I'm not a member of the WGA, although I'm sure that I'll have to become one someday. The fact is that the strike is putting things on hold for everyone, union or not.
It seems like getting the show developed is taking a long time. What's the deal?
If there is one thing that I've learned, it's that crap down in Hollywood moves slooooooow. No one is in any big hurry to do anything. Also, the threat of the writer's strike has been screwing stuff up down there for the entire year, not just the weeks since the strike actually began.
How is the show that you are developing in LA different?
It has a different title, different characters, it is set in college rather than high school etc. Can't divulge much else at this point.
So 'Gamers' is completely separate from the network-targeted show you are developing?
Completely separate in that I will retain complete ownership of 'Gamers' as-is, yes. They are two different projects, even if the basic theme is the same.
Will you make more episodes of the show for the internet?
Sure will! I have some funding lined up to make new episodes of Gamers... but who knows how long it will take to actually get the check.
Are you open to accepting sponsors for more episodes of Gamers online?
Yup! Anyone who wants to sponsor the show in exchange for advertising etc. should email me.
You should sell "Gamers" to G4 TV.
I would do this in a heartbeat just to get the ball rolling on SOMETHING... but my agents and other advisors seem to be morally opposed to doing something for G4 because there apparently isn't any money in it. I may try to pursue this on my own after the strike is over.
Are you working on anything else down in LA?
I have a feature film script that I'm hoping to sell when the strike ends, and ideas for a few more features that I'm going to be writing in the mean time.
